Late one foggy night, a mother driving home spots a young girl in a tattered dress standing in the middle of the road. As she gets closer, the girl’s face shocks her—it’s her daughter Emily, missing for five years. Overwhelmed with shock and relief, the mother takes Emily home, but something’s off. Emily is distant, speaking only in whispers, and seems disconnected from the home she once knew.
As days pass, Emily starts recalling fragmented memories, including a strange figure who brought her food in a dark room. The mother’s suspicion grows, and she drives to a family cabin where Emily was likely kept. There, they discover disturbing clues that lead to the truth: Emily’s uncle, Jake, had taken her, pretending to be her father to “protect” her.
The police arrest Jake, and Emily, finally able to process the trauma, begins to heal. With time, the mother and daughter rebuild their bond, and Emily, once again able to sing the lullaby her mother used to hum, begins to find peace.
